Ted Laan began his studies at McGill University, graduating in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy. From there, he attended Osgoode Hall Law School and graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor of Law Degree. After serving his articles, he was called to the Ontario Bar in 1979.

Soon after, Ted established an office in Toronto. He practises as a litigation lawyer with experience at every level in the Ontario Court system. His services include trials, appeals, negotiations, mediations and arbitrations. Ted believes that effective advocacy requires thorough knowledge of the law and a commitment to comprehensive preparation.

Ted spends his free time volunteering on a number of advisory boards for charitable and not-for-profit organizations. He was a 3-term Trustee with the Toronto Lawyers Association.
